Shelter Cove

Don’t miss the beautiful coastal community of Shelter Cove—a beautiful seaside populace with spectacular beaches, vistas and hiking trails. Located on “The Lost Coast”, Shelter Cove features many, dramatic building sites and fine custom homes with amazing ocean views.

The Cove” is well-known for ocean fishing where rock fish, halibut and salmon are generally the “catch-of-the-day.” The tide pools are chock full of fascinating little creatures that are sure to amaze and intrigue young and old, who admire the sea.

Adjoining Shelter Cove is the “King Range” with spectacular hiking trails south into the “Sinkyone Wilderness” and along black sandy beaches. Shelter Cove also features its own golf course, a small private plane airstrip, a great Venezuelan Mi Mochima restaurant and the Gyppo Ale Mill California’s most remote brewery that serves amazing craft beers, local wines and farm to table cuisine plus live entertainment, the new Surf Point Coffee House, and DelGada Pizza. There are plenty of stylish cozy accommodations and an RV/campground park steps from the mighty Pacific. For the adventurous, take the three-day hike north to Petrolia, but be sure to check in with the State Park Ranger for details and more information—you’ll want to be prepared for this endeavor.
